Grace Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC)
and is located at 1273 Fort Street, on the edge of downtown Victoria.
We are inviting applications for an Administrative Assistant who will support the congregation and
the many renters and community groups that use our facility.
This is a part-time, contract position.
Areas of Responsibility
General duties include:
Coordinating day-to-day, on-site activities
Facilitating congregational communications
Maintaining church records
Providing support to members, friends, and newcomers to Grace Lutheran Church
Produce worship service folders and newsletters
Manage social media accounts
Prepare content for the website and electronic bulletins
Manage the office
Assist with the preparation of correspondence and the Annual Report
Facilities Management:
Schedule the use of the church building
Prepare rental contracts and agreements
Maintain key and security code records
Coordinate set-up, use, and cleaning of the building with the janitor
Coordinate facility maintenance and repairs with the property manager
Finances:
Prepare invoices and financial records
Manage bank deposits and e-transfers
Liaise with the Treasurer and Financial Secretary
Provide input for budget and financial planning

Compensation and Hours of Work:
This is a part-time, contract position. Compensation range: $26.50/hour.
The Administrative Assistant will work a maximum of 12-15 hours/week.
The Church Office is typically open two or three days a week. Hours of work are flexible.
This position reports to the President of the Church Council.
